Advice for Trail Runners: Confidently take on the challenges of the trails with the Altra Men's Timp 5 Running Shoes. The Timp 5 provide high cushioning and exceptional grip.

Underfoot Feel

In comparison to the Timp 4, the Timp 5's outsole has a major update. The Timp 5's outsole is Vibram™ Megagrip. This outsole offers incredible grip on both wet and dry surfaces.

The midsole is Altra's EGO™ MAX compound. This creates a lightweight, yet highly cushioned midsole.

The combination of the midsole and outsole should help you to run over varied terrains in comfort and with confidence.

Upper Fit

Altra are well-known for their uppers with a FootShape™ Fit. The Timp 5 has a Standard FootShape™ Fit. This is their most common upper last, and it sits between their Original (widest) and Slim Fits.

Ideal Run Type

The Altra Men's Timp 5 Running Shoes are suitable for training runs on the trails. They are suitable for a wide variety of terrain, with a possible exception being deep mud.

Sizing Advice

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
